Peerkangai muttai...This dish i prepare on holidays only...These have to be prepared and eaten steaming hot...That way it tastes very good...This is a nice side dish for rice..and it goes well with chappathis too...A friend in my college days used to bring this combination with chappathi...and her box will become empty quickly...We all liked it so much...here's the recipe...give it a try...

white Kurma(Veg kurma)/ Side dish for chappathi
This is our home style of making white kurma...This is a nice side dish for chappathi...It's easy to do and u can add the veggies u have at hand...I added carrot,potato and beans...We can add cauliflower,green peas,different colour capsicum etc...I didn't add tomatoes in this...If u want you can add at the end and give it a boil...it shouldn't become mushy...will add more colour to the kurma...here's the recipe...

Milagu kozhi varuval ...I saw this recipe in a cookbook which my mom gave me...It can be prepared in some 10 to 15 minutes...and the process seemed easier to me...I tried it and it's very nice...We like it a little bit spicier side, but u can reduce the spices if u want...Goes well with any mild pulav and very nice with rasam sadham or curd rice...

Orange Chicken
I tasted this orange chicken first time in panda express hotel in a mall...We were all tired of shopping, and it tasted divine at that time...I searched for the recipe , but many used orange marmalade and other such things...I found this recipe here easy to do and all the ingredients i have in hand...So i tried this and it came out nice..It has a sweet and sour taste...and also a little bit fresh taste due to the fresh juices...kids will like this for sure...

Paal Kozhukattai/Rice balls in coconut milk sauce
Paal kozhukattai is the one which my mom likes so much...So my grandma used to make it for her often...Still remember, when we come from school,my grandma bringing this dish...Usually they make it this way...sometimes in brown colour, adding jaggery and shredded coconut(instead of sugar and coconut milk)...They also add dried ginger(sukku) in that...Will post that version soon...

Last year we planted some veggies in our yard...We got so many ridge gourd...Home grown veggies have a special taste...They were so sweet and we enjoyed many ridge gourd dishes(MIL was with me then...)...will soon post other dishes with ridge gourd...This kootu goes well as side dish for rice...
