Beetroot chutney/ Side dish for Idly Dosa


Beetroot chutney is one of the chutneys which my friend sathya makes often...I got this recipe from her...This can be served eith idli,dosa as well as we can mix it with rice...tastes very nice with rice and gingely oil....It's a simple and healthy chutney,which kids will love...As we all know,Beetroot helps to increase heamoglobin...good for girls especially...


Ingredients

Beetroot1 small
Channa dhal1 tblsp
Urad dal1 tblsp
Curry leaves 1 sprig
Dry red chillies1 or2
Tamarindsmall piece
Saltto taste
To Temper

Mustard1 tsp
Urad dal1 tsp
oil1 tsp
Curry leaves1 sprig
Method
Heat little oil in a pan, and add channa dal,urad dal,red chillies, curry leaves and little piece of tamarind....Fry till the dals become golden brown...Then add the chopped beetroot cubes and fry...

Fry well for a good 5 to 7 minutes untill beetroot stars becoming slightly pale....Let it cool down a bit and grind it in the mixer...

Temper with mustard,urad dal and curry leaves if  u want...I didn't temper it...
