Crab masala is my favourite dish from anjappar restaurant....I have eaten crab only twice before marriage...It tasted delicious to me both times...After I became pregnant, I began to crave for crab a lot...Luckily , we got Anjappar restaurant near our home here...any every time I go there I wanted to order this...but we can't finish that big plate...So began making at home...So now to the delicious recipe of nandu masala...
Ingredients
Ingredient | Measurement |
Crab/nandu | 3 or 4 |
Shallots | 12 to 15 |
Red chilli | 2 or 3 |
Pepper | 1 tsp |
Ginger | 2 inch |
Oil | 1 tblsp |
Salt | as needed |
Turmeric powder | 1 tsp |
Coconut milk | 3/4 cup |
Peanut | 1 tblsp |
Lemon juice | 1 tsp |
Cilantro | for garnish |
Steam cook the cleaned crabs for 5 minutes...In a mixer, take shallots, pepper, dry red chillies and ginger...
Make a fine paste out of them...In a deep and wide vessel, heat some oil and pour the ground mixture and add turmeric powder...
Fry till oil seperates on sides and then add coconut milk and salt...Let it come to a boil...
Meanwhile, make a paste out of peanut with little water...
After the masala comes to boil add ground peanut paste and steamed crab...Let it boil and thicken to desired consistency...We like it a bit thick...
Pour some lemon juice on top after switching off the flame...Garnish with cilantro ...
