This green chilli gravy is a simple version of hyderabadi mirch ka salan...you can use bajji milagai /mirch instead of green chilli as in mirch ka salan...You can do the same with green capsicum too...At that time add a little bit more chilli powder if you want...No onion or tomato cutting required for this gravy...This goes well with rice,chapathis,mild pulavs and rotis....we had it once with idiyappam too...Try it and enjoy..

Green chilli | 3 or 4 |
Ginger garlic paste | 1 tsp |
Peanut | 1/4 cup |
Cashews | 1/8 cup |
Sesame seeds/ellu | 1 tblsp |
Turmeric powder | 1/2 tsp |
Red chili powder | 1/2 tsp |
Yogurt/curd | 1/4 cup |
Tamarind water | 3/4 cup |
Cilantro | for garnish |
Jaggery | 1 generous pinch |
Salt | as needed |
Method
Grind peanuts,cashewnut and sesame seeds into a fine paste using little water...Heat a sauce pan with oil and add the slit green chillies and ginger garlic paste...Fry for a minute...
Add the ground paste, turmeric powder and red chilli powder...Mix well and cook for 2 or 3 minutes...Add yogurt/curd to it and mix well....
Then add the tamarind water, salt and jaggery....Let it come to boil and simmer for 5 minutes...Switch off the flame and garnish with chopped cilantro...
