Egg biryani is a simple and tasty dish which can be prepared for weekday lunch...It's a good choice for kid's lunchbox...healthy with less ingredients and easy for mom's to prepare...My boy don't like boiled eggs...But eats the eggs this way...It's a satisfying dish and can be prepared for dinners too.
Try this easy recipe and enjoy hot with raitha...
Ingredients
Ingredient | Measurement |
Eggs | 5 or 6 |
Oil/Ghee | 1 1/2 tblsp |
Onion | 1 large |
Ginger garlic paste | 2 tsp |
Mint | 1/4 cup |
Tomato | 2 small |
Biryani masala | 1 tblsp |
Yogurt /Curd | 1/2 cup |
Red chili powder | 1 tsp |
Basmati rice | 1 1/2 cup or 2 cup |
Cilantro | for garnish |
Lemon juice | 1 tblsp |
Salt | as needed |
Method
Heat oil/ ghee in a pressure pan and saute the sliced onions and ginger garlic paste till transparent and raw flavor goes off ...Add slit green chillies and mint/pudina to it and saute...
Then add chopped tomatoes and biryani masala (with whole garam masala)...(Otherwise you can add turmeric,red chilli powder and coriander powder too...)Saute well till oil seperates on sides and then add curd/ yogurt...
Mix well and add water and salt...Let it come to boil and then add the washed rice and lemon juice...Pressure cook for 2 whistles...
Heat a kadai with some oil and add red chilli powder and salt...Add boiled eggs cut in halves...
In a bowl mix ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder,turmeric powder and an egg...Pour this on top of eggs and cook for a minute on both sides...
Open the pressure cooker and stir the rice,,,Sprinkle chopped cilantro on top...Add the prepared eggs on top....
Serve hot with raitha...
