Boondi is a easy to prepare, quick snack for diwali..We can make it in different colours, as served in weddings or can stick with basic yellow color..I made yellow and orange..would like to add green too next time..I'm preparing this under desserts for BM#57..Do give it a try fo rthis diwali and you will like it for it's simplicity and taste..
Ingredients
Ingredient | Measurement |
Besan/Kadali Maavu | 2 cup |
Water | as needed |
Sugar | 1 cup |
Baking soda | a pinch |
Cashews | 2 tsp |
raisins | 1 tsp |
Edible campor | 1 pinch |
Cardamom powder | 1/2 tsp |
Oil | as needed |
Kalkandu(optional) | 1 tsp |
Method
Take besan flour in 2 bowls and sieve it one without color and one with orange colour...Add a pinch of baking soda and water....
Mix it without any lumps into bajji batter consistency...Don't make it watery..if so tails will form in boondi..
Take a wide bottom pan and heat oil in it...Pour the 2 batters in batches on the boondi ladle using a spoon and spread it with the spoon....Fry till boondis become slightly crisp...If we move the boondis using a ladle, neru neru sound will come...
