Method

Take a pressure pan or pressure cooker and heat oil in that...the oil should become very hot..almost smoking point..at that time add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom and bayleaves...Then add the sugar..

The sugar will melt and form brown colour caramel...Now add the ground red onion paste and ginger garlic paste...Fry them in medium flame until it becme golden brown colour..

Now add the cleaned mutton and the masala powders viz..turmeric,red chilli, coriander and muttn masala and mix them well...then add the yogurt..Mix well and let it fry for 5 mins...

Then add required water  to immerse the mutton and close the pressure coker and let it  whistle 5 or 6 times and then switch off the flame.

Open the pressure cooker after gas is released by itself and add the cubed potatoes, sliced tomatoes and cut green chillies..once again pressure cook for 5 whistles, and in slow flame for 5 mins..

Open the cooker after pressure is released and add the grund coconut paste and let it come to a boil...Now the mutton gravy is ready...

This mutton gravy goes well with idli, dosa, poori and chappathi...Try it and enjoy...
