Murungaikkai Sodhi/Drumstick side dish/Side dish recipes


Murungaikkai sodhi...This is a quick ad tasty recipe...also easy to do...now we get lot of drumsticks this season....Last year we planted drumstick tree in our backyard...but it died due to freezing temperatures this january...next time have to plant in container...give it a try and enjoy...


Ingredients

Drum stick2 or 3
Red chillies3
Jeera2 tsp
Tomato1/2 medium
Shallot3 or 4
Coconut slices1/4 cup
Saltto taste

To Temper

Mustard1 tsp
Urad dal1 tsp
oil1 tsp
Curry leaves1 sprig

Method
Make a paste out of coconut,jeera,red chillies, shallots and tomato...

In a deep dish, heat some oil and temper with mustard,urad dal and curry leaves...

Add the cut drumsticks and fry for a minute...then add the ground paste, salt and water to immerse the drumsticks well...

Close with a lid a cook till drumsticks become soft...Stir in between and check if there's water to boil ...

After the drumsticks are cooked, open the lid and fry till all water evaporates...Remove from heat and place in a serving dish...
