Pineapple Subji /Annasipazha Subji /Side dish for chappathi


Pineapple Subji...This dish i saw in a cookbook and tried ....First time the pineapple was overripe and the dish become mushy...This time i got a good pineapple and at once i tried it again...It came out nice and tasty...and also so colourful...We had it with chappathi yesterday...Kids will definitely like this...Do try and enjoy...


Ingredients

Pineapple /Annasipazham 1/2 small
Mustard1  tsp
Dry red Chillies1 or 2
Coriander Seeds 1/2 tblsp
Peppercorn 3 or 4 corns
Cumin Seed 1 tsp
Fenugreek Seed 1/8 tsp
Coconut 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder1 pinch
oil2 tsp
Saltto taste

Method

Select a pineapple which is slightly unripe... Cut pineapple into small pieces and pressure cook for 3 whistles....

Grind together coriander seeds,dry red chillies,cumin,pepper,fenugreek and coconut with little water..,

Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard...Add the ground paste and saute till coconut turns slightly brown...

Add the cooked pineapple with water..Add salt and turmeric powder and boil till everything combines...

Add a little red chilli powder to hot oil and pour on top(optional)...Garnish with cilantro...
