Chicken Soup /Kozhi Soup

This is our home style of making chicken soup...Works well for our colds...Adjust the spice level to your taste...The measurements given will provide medium level spicy soup...This is a nice aromatic soup, which also tastes great...Give it a try...Enjoy hot...


Chicken1/4 lb
Turmeric powder1 tsp
Saltto taste
Gingelly oil1 tblsp
To grind

Pepper1 tsp
Jeera1 tsp
Ginger2 inch piece
Garlic2 pods
Mint1 sprig
Curry leaves1 sprig


Grind together pepper,jeera,ginger,garlic,shallots,mint and curry leaves into a smooth paste....

Heat a pressure pan / vessel with some gingelly oil, add the ground paste, turmeric and salt and fry for a minute...

Then add the cleaned chicken pieces and fry it a little...

Then add 2 cups of water(add as u wish),and pressure cook for 2 whistlesand in simmer for 5 minutes....

Let the pressure settle by itself and then open the cooker....Add required pepper and salt...Garnish with cilantro and little gingelly oil...
