Ginger Chutney/Inji Chutney/ Side dish for Idly Dosa


This is andhra style ginger chutney...In our area hotel,hot breads they use to give this chutney with evening snack items...It goes well with paruppu vada,mirchi bajji etc...We tried with idli, dosa also..It's nice and has very nice aroma...Try this if u want a change in taste..No need to say, as you all know,it's very healthy...Enjoy...

Ingredients

Ginger3 or 4 inch
Red chilli1 or 2
Urad dal1 tbsp
Channa dal1 tbsp
Fenugreek/vendhayam1 tsp
Tamarind 1 inch
Coconut slicesfew 
Jaggery1 tsp
To Temper

Mustard1/2 tsp
Urad dal1/2 tsp
Curry leaves1 sprig
Oil1 tsp
Method
Heat a kadai with little oil,and add channa dal, urad dal,fenugreek and red chillies...Roast till they become golden brown..

In the same kadai, add the chopped ginger and tamarind, roast till it becomes slightly brown..

Let them all cool a bit ,and add coconut slices to it and grind ...In between grinding ,add the jaggery and grind into a fine paste...

Temper with mustard, urad dal and curry leaves...
