Onion Tomato Green Chutney/Kalavai Chutney/ Side dish for Idly Dosa



My MIL used to make this chutney...We can add  a little bit of everything we have at hand...If u want to use last bit of everything,before you go to shopping,this thing will help you..I didn't add ginger here, u can if u want/have...It's a nice aromatic chutney..goes well with dosa ,idli etc...


Ingredients

Garlic1 pod
Red chilli1
Green chilli1
Coconut slices3 or 4
Red onion1/4
Tomato1/4
Cilantro1 sprig
Mint1 sprig
Saltas needed
To Temper

Mustard1 tsp
Urad dal1 tsp
Curry leaves1 sprig
Oil1 tsp

Method

In a small kadai, heat oil and add garlic,green chilly and red chilly...Fry for 30 seconds..Then add chopped onion and tomato...

Fry till onion become transparent...Add coconut slices and mix...Then add mint and cilantro and fry till they shrink...

Let it cool and then grind with required salt...Temper with mustard, urad dal and curry leaves...
