shallot Chutney/Chinna Vengaya Chutney/ Side dish for Idly Dosa


As u all know, chinna vengayam is tastier than the big onions...So this chutney should taste better than the other onion chutneys...sure it does...also chinna vengayam is 1000 times more nutritious than big onion(really...u can search about this)...It also makes our mind sharper...Do try this healthy chutney and enjoy...

Ingredients

Shallot/Chinna Vengayam7 or 8
Garlic2 pods
Red chilli1 or 2
Urad dal1 tbsp
Channa dal1 tbsp
Tamarind 1 inch
Coconut slicesfew 
To Temper

Mustard1/2 tsp
Urad dal1/2 tsp
Curry leaves1 sprig
Oil1 tsp
Method
Heat a kadai with little oil, and roast channa dal, urad dal, red chilli and tamarind...set aside..In the same kadai, roast the small onion and garlic,till onion become slightly transparent...

Grind along with coconut slices(u can omit coconut, if u want it more spicy)into a fine paste...Temper with mustard, urad dal and curry leaves(i didn't temper here)...Ejoy with soft idlis...
