Rose Syrup / Rose Sarbath / Rose Milk with rose syrup (using fresh rose petals)

Spring has started...and there are lots of flowers everywhere...In our home we have 6 to 7 rose bushes growing wild...There are loads of flowers...I wanted to use them somehow...particularly that paneer rose that smells divine...While searching I got this rose syrup idea...I saw a recipe here and modified it slightly...I made rose sarbath  and rose milk using the syrup (pics below)....You can add it over icecream too...It can also be used in cocktails...

For rose sarbath, take rose syrup and add chill water, lemon juice/tender coconut water...Mix well and top it with mint and ice cubes....

For rose milk, boil milk and let it cool down and keep in fridge....While making rose milk. just add the rose syrup  to that milk and mix well....Rose milk from pure and fresh rose petals tastes really far better than the store bought chemical ones...I didn't add any artificial color...So the color is little light...U can add color if you want...

By the way, as an added advantage my home is now smelling like a rose garden after making this syrup...Do try and enjoy summer with these yummy drinks...Ok, now to the recipe...

Ingredients

IngredientMeasurement
Rose petals  1 cup
Water4 cup
Sugar1 1/2 cup
cloves2
Lemon juice2 or 3 drops

Method

Take  fresh rose petals in a dish and pour boiled water on top(rosepetals:water=1:4).....I actually used 2 types of roses( paneer rose for smell and knock out roses for color) half and half...Let it soak in water for half a day...Keep it in refrigerator...

The knock out rose pic is below...After sokaing, strain it wellthrough a cheese cloth or strainer...

To the resulting solution, add sugar and let it come to boil....

Add 2 cloves and 3 or 4 drops of lemon juice(so that syrup don't crystallize)...Reduce the syrup till half string consistency....Store in a glass jar...

Wanna try these:
