Tomato rasam / Thakkali rasam is one of the rasams we prepare often in our homes..I used MTR rasam powder in this recipe here..It also gives a beautiful color to this toamto rasam...Homemade rasam powders will also do fine...Do give a try to our home style of thakkali rasam and enjoy..
Ingredients

Tomato

| Rasam powder | 1 tsp |
| Turmeric powder | 1 pinch |
| salt | as needed |
| Mustard | 1/2 tsp |
| Urad dal | 1/2 tsp |
| Curry leaves | 1 sprig |
| Garlic | 2 |
| Dry red chilli | 1 |
| Cilantro | for garnish |
| Oil | 1 tsp |
Chop tomatoes finely..Add lottle oil in a vessel and add tomatoes,salt, rasam powder and turmeric powder..Saute till tomatoes become mushy and then filter it with little water through a sieve..Filtering is optional, you can use as such too..
