Kondai Kadalai Sundal / Black Channa Sundal

Kondai kadalai sundal is one of the healthy and tasty evening snack, which is also very easy to prepare..It's good for lunch box too, but with little less coconut..I usually grind the red chilies with coconut..If you want you can add during tempering and skip while grinding..But this way it's more flavorful and tasty...Snacks for kids, which are healthy is a tough combo...But I'm trying to feed these things to my boy and got a little give a try and enjoy..


Kondai kadalai/Black channa1 cup
Coconut slices4
Jeera1 tsp
Dry red chilli2 or 3 
To Temper

Mustard1/2 tsp
Urad dal1/2 tsp
Curry leaves1sprig
Oil1 tsp


Saok sundal / channa overnight in water..Drain the water and pressure cook for 7 whistles adding fresh water and salt..Grind coarsely the coconut, red chilli and jeera/ cumin..In a pan, heat some oil and temper with mustard, urad dal and curry leaves...

Add the boiled sundal and the ground cocout paste to it and fry for  2 minutes...
