Home style Rasam


Our home style of preparing rasam...Very aromatic and flavorful rasam, which will be very satisfying..Adjust spice level according to your taste..We usually grind the curry leaves along with other ingredients, which can be added in tempering too..Do give a try and enjoy this flavorful rasam..

Ingredients

  Tamarind
small lemon size
Cumin seeds1 tsp
pepper corn1/2 tsp
coriander seeds1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds1/2 tsp
Garlic2 pods
Curry leaves 1 sprig
Dry red chilli 1
Mustard1/2 tsp
Urad dal1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder1 pinch
Hing/ asafoetida2 pinch
Tomato1 small
Saltas needed
Cilantro for garnish
Oil 1 tsp

Method

Make a paste out of cumin seeds,pepper corn,coriander seeds,fenugreek seeds,garlic,red chilli and curry leaves...Heat oil in  a small kadai and temper with mustard and urad dal...

Add the ground ingredients to it and add a pinch of turmeric powder and hing...Saute them till it becomes dark brown...

Prepare tamarind extract and squeeze tomato in it...Add required salt and pour it in the kadai...

.Add chopped cilantro and Heat till it becomes frothy..
