This is a simple potato gravy which can be prepared in a jiffy...Goes well with both poori and chapathis...serves as a quick fix for our weeknight dinners...Do try and enjoy this simple and yummy recipe...
Ingredients
Ingredient | Measurement |
Potato | 3 or 4 |
Onion | 1 medium |
Green chilli | 1 or 2 |
Cinnamon | 1 inch |
Cardamom | 1 |
Cloves | 1 or 2 |
Yogurt/curd | 1/2 cup |
Red chilli powder | 2 tsp |
Garam masala powder | 1 tsp |
Butter/oil | 1 tblsp+for frying |
Cilantro | for garnish |
Salt | as needed |
Method
Heat oil in a pan and temper with cinnamon, cardamom and clove....Add slit green chilli...Add finely chopped onion and fry till turns slightly brown...
Add yogurt/curd,red chilli powder,salt and garam masala powder...Cook till raw flavor of masala powder goes off...then simmer...
Pressure cook potatoes for 2 or 3 whistles and cut it as cubes....Shallow fry in little oil...keep aside...you can skip this frying part if you want and add potatoes as such...
When the gravy gets ready and oozes oil on sides, add fried potatoes...Give it a boil and switch off...Garnish with chopped cilantro...
