Rajma masala is a famous punjabi side dish for rice and chapathi...It has high fiber content and helps reduce cholesterol....also it's a rich and filling recipe...I used dry rajma beans and soaked it overnight...We all liked it with our chapathis....Do try and enjoy...
Ingredients

Kidney beans/Rajma | 3/4 cup |
Onion | 1 medium |
Tomato | 1 big |
Green chilli | 1 or 2 |
Ginger | 1 inch |
Garlic | 3 or 4 cloves |
Cumin seeds | 1 tsp |
Turmeric powder | 1 tsp |
Red chilli powder | 2 tsp |
Garam masala powder | 1 tsp |
Aamchur powder | 1 tsp |
Butter/oil | 2 tblsp |
Cilantro | for garnish |
Salt | as needed |
Method
Soak rajma / Kidney beans overnight or atleast 12 hours...Drain the soaked water and add fresh water...Add chopped onion,tomato,green chillies...Reserve some onion for garnish....
Add ginger,garlic,turmeric powder.red chilli powder, cumin seeds...Mix well and add 2 tablespoon of butter...Mix and pressure cook for 15 to 18 whistles....
Open the cooker....The dal should be mushy...If not mash with a spoon slightly...Add salt,garam masala powder and aamchur powder....Give it a boil and switch off the flame....Garnish with chopped cilantro and little raw onion...
