I wanted to try biscuits for long time with the millets...I have prepared biscuits with wheat flour and ragi flour...but didn't took photos of them...All of them are the same recipe as here....I follow
show me the curry's recipe and every time it turns out nice...Here I tried with saamai/little millet,
and according to our family this tastes best...even better than the original all purpose flour one...This has a little course texture (actually i didn't ground it very fine) , so it got little interesting texture too...Do try and enjoy this yummy and healthy snack....
Ingredients
Ingredient | Measurement |
Saamai/Little millet | 1 cup |
Butter | 1/2 cup |
Sugar | 1/2 cup |
Baking powder | 1/4 tsp |
Salt | 1 pinch |
Cardamom powder | 1/2 tsp |
Maida/wheat flour | 1 tblsp |
Nuts | for garnish |
Method
Dry roast little millet/ saamai slightly till aroma raises...Make a fine powder out of it...In a wide vessel, take powdered sugar, salt, cardamom powder and baking powder....
Add the room temperature butter to it...or shred the cold butter(like me)....Mix well...
Add the powdered millet and a tblsp of all purpose flour / wheat flour for binding...Mix well and you will get a soft dough...Keep in fridge for 15 to 20 minutes...
Preheat oven to 300 F (150 C)....Make smooth balls and top it with nuts of your choice....Bake for 20 top 25 minutes....Let it cool and store in airtight container...
Wanna try these:
Looks so good. Perfect in shape.
