Varagu / kodo millet kichadi is a simple and healthy dish which can be prepared in minutes...I'm including millets in our diet now a days and this kichadi is liked by everyone for breakfast...It has a nutty texture and gets digested easily...even my lil.one likes this...Enjoy and easy and flavourful kichadi...
Ingredients

Varagu / Kodo millet | 1/2 cup |
Carrot | 1 medium |
Green beans | 4 or 5 |
Mustard | 1/2 tsp |
Urad dal | 1/2 tsp |
Curry leaves | 1 sprig |
Channa dal | 1 tsp |
Green chilli | 1 |
Olive oil | 2 or 3 tsp |
Shallots | 4 or 5 |
Water | 1 cup |
Salt | as needed |
Method
Heat some oil in a kadai and temper with mustard,urad dal,channa dal and curry leaves...Then add chopped onion and slit green chilli...Saute till onion turn transparent...
Add chopped veggies(carrot,green beans) and saute for 2 minutes....Add water (varagu:water=1:2) and salt and let it come to boil...
Wash the kodo millet / varagu and let it soak in water till water comes to boil...Add soaked millet to the boiling water and mix well...
Cook till the millet becomes soft and and the kichadi becomes dry absorbing all water...
Enjoy hot with coconut chutney...
