Mutton Biriyani

Mutton biriyani is a thing which i don't want to try for a long time...The first time i made mutton biriyani after marriage, it was a disaster...So i was scared to try it again...Few months back only i tried again....To my surprise, it tasted nice...So I'm following this recipe now a days  and i think i'm good with this....

Ginger garlic paste
1 tblsp
      1/4 cup
Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp
1 big
Garam masala powder
1 tsp
Basmati rice
2 1/2 cups
Saltto taste

Marinate mutton with lemon juice, yogurt, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, green chillies, ginger garlic paste and few mint leaves....Heat a pressure pan, add oil and ghee and temper cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom and bay leaves...

Add sliced onion and ginger garlic paste and fry till onion turns transparent...Add mint leaves and corriander leaves and fry for a minute...Then add turmeric powder and red chilli powder...

Fry for 2 minutes and add the chopped tomatoes...Fry till the tomatoes turn mushy...

Add the marinated mutton and a cup of water....Pressure cook for 5 whistles....

Let the pressure settle and open the cooker....Add a cup of yogurt and 3 cups of water...

Add garam masala powder and mix well...Add the washed rice to it and check for salt...

Again pressure cook for 2 whistles and switch off the flame...Open and give a stir and top with chopped cilantro leaves....

Let it stand a little time before serving...that way it becomes more flavorful...
