Bengali Chicken Rezala

Bengali Chicken Rezala is a new recipe which I tried and became a huge hit in our home..This is a rich and creamy gravy, which tastes soo delicious..We had it with chapathis, but goes well with naan,pulavs and rice too..I referred vahchef's recipe and changed slightly to our taste..Here's a hearty chicken gravy for the celebration of your taste buds..


Chicken with bone
1/2 lb
1 cup
Ginger garlic paste
2 tsp
Saltas needed
    1 inch
 1 ro 2
Oil1 tblsp
Bay leaf2
Green chillies3 or 4
pepper powder1 tsp
Casheew nuts
2 tsp
Poppy seeds/kasakasa 1 tsp


Marinate chicken with little curd/yogurt,salt and ginger garlic paste...Let it marinate atleast for 20 minutes...Heat oil in  a pressure pan and add cinnamon,cardamom,cloves and bay leaves..

Add onion paste and cook for 3 minutes...Add ginger garlic paste and chopped green chillies...Mix well and cook for 5 minutes...

Add pepper powder/ fresh ground pepper...Add cashew and poppy seed paste and mix well...

Add yogurt/curd and mix...Add the marinated chicken and saute for 2 minutes...

Add required water and salt and pressure cook for 2 whistles...Then in simmer for 5 minutes...Remove from heat and let the pressure settle by itself...

Serve with rice, naan,parota or chapathi...
