Coconut Chutney / Thengai Chutney


Coconut chutney is the easiest of all chutneys and the most prepared one in homes...It always comes as a quick fix with most of the south indian dishes...Adding a bit of garlic and ginger increases its aroma and makes it little more healthy too...

Ingredients

Coconut slicesfew 
Porikadalai/
Fried gram dal
1 t blsp
Ginger1 small piece
Green chilli1 or 2
Garlic1 small pod
saltas needed
To Temper

IngredientMeasurement
Mustard1/2 tsp
Urad dal1/2 tsp
Curry leaves1 sprig
Shallot
Oil1 tsp

Method

Grind together coconut slices,porikadalai/fried gram dal, green chilli, garlic, ginger...Add water and salt and grind to desired consistency...


Temper with mustard. urad dal, curry leaves and a chopped shallot...
